Julieth is a Mother and works part time painting Fabrics at the Vila Handprints.
French Speaking but fairly speaks English.
She is interested to attend more art exhibition so she can showcase her amazing work of art. She is encouraging more women to do artwork because she says it’s Fun and is very enjoyable.
Her main art inspiration is the traditional cultures of Vanuatu but her tapestries are also created around images from daily life and the natural environments of Vanuatu
Julieth Peta is born in 1964 in the Island of Erromango, Southern Part of Vanuatu. Julieth is perhaps Vanuatu’s foremost woman contemporary artist.
She began specializing in Tapestry then attended arts at the National Institute of Technology of Vanuatu and become the first graduate of this course.
1983 – First Exhibition staged at the Gallery of the French Embassy.
1994 – Exhibited her Creations with Male Vanuatu Artists Joseph John and Emmanuel Watt at the FRANCOPHONE ’94 Exhibition in Paris.
1995 – Exhibited her Creations with other Ni-Vanuatu Artists In Sydney
1996 – Chosen as one of the Three Renowned Artists in the Pacific to participate in Noumea, New Caledonia Biennial Contemporary Art.
Julieth is the Founding Member of the Nawita Association.
Nawita Association is the local association of Local Artists in Vanuatu.
