Garupe Beach Cottages – Premium log village by the Baltic sea

Garupe Beach Cottages is a new village by the sea in Latvia which consists of eight beautiful and high quality Honka houses. They are located next to each other only a 30-minute drive from the center of Riga and within a 15-minute walk to Baltic sea through a lovely pine forest.

In the first building phase eight family houses were built. Style-wise, four of them are classical and the other four are modern. There are both one-storey and two-storey houses. All the houses have sauna and a fireplace. Log as a construction material was chosen primarily from an environmental point of view. In addition, the location of the houses, surrounded by a forest and the proximity of the sea, was taken into account and the subjective perception of the developer who is living in such a house himself.

Negotiations were held with several Finnish manufacturers, but Honka was chosen for several reasons. First of all, as the company is known as a reliable and high-quality supplier of complete sets of houses, as well as familiarity with the technology of their production. The developer Sergei Palishchuk also points out that flexibility and professionalism when working with Honka at the stage of choosing a supplier was also a reason.

The particular models of Honka houses - Vista, Louna, Ajatonta, Kunnas and Serenata - were chosen based on the preferences of the local and potential foreign buyers, as well as on the basis of the personal preferences of the head of the developer who lives in one of the built houses.

The project was completed and proceeded without any major problems – Honka, skillful installers and local builders were all performing well. All the houses are currently for sale and some of them are already sold.

Coincidently, two more Honka houses were built in the same village. However, as far as the developer is aware, The Garupe Beach Cottages are the first Honka houses in the Latvian market and which are assembled in one area.

In the second and third phases of the project the plan is to create a well-thought-out and visually attractive building, which will consist of individual and semi-detached houses. The construction of the second phase of the project is planned for 2022/2023.
